Wayne, I have started writing a couple of times on this but have erased each time. I spend many years as an SF operator/commander. I will just say people have no idea how tough the job is conducting missions deep in bad guy country and your team is pretty much it. Its a tough job.

I believe... that's why a ? After the "humor" in my thoughts.

Sometimes duffleblog cuts the corners just a bit TOO fine.

This is one of those times... just like another posted recently.

Sgt Wayne Wood - Wayne I think it was my last trip over and a SR NCO from one of my teams had meeting with what that thought was a trusted person, member of the national police. At some point during the meeting the guy emptied a AK on my guy and his terp. I have no idea how, but they both survived, the terp was killed later in his village. My guy retired, I think he had 15-20 AK holes in him. The jackass ran to Pacistan

Pakistan, and they never found him. all of this to say I have no idea how many times I have seen some version of that play out. This was the most personal for the simple fact I was friends with the NCO that was shot up.

I'd say there's probably reality in this one.

In all humor, there is a touch of reality. This one might be closer than most, though!
