That is how the Army increased their numbers during the surge for OIF and OEF, they lowered the standards. Even promotions that should have never occurred happened during that surge. Unfortunate.

No point in accessing people who can't do the job. That's part of the problem. And a lot of kids are not good recruits.

Yea, we definitely lack on the Regular Army side even in Chaplain recruiting. People have the wrong idea about the components more so because of what they hear. It’s an issue that will definitely have to be figured out. People keep saying that they don’t want another draft or anything like it but...........

If the recruitment problem is in large part because a growing number of young adults are unfit/ineligible to serve, I don't think bringing back the draft or lowering standards is the answer.
