His brother Harold was on the USS West Virginia when it sand during the attack on Pearl Harbor. On his 90th Birthday celebration he spoke saying he wanted his brother's remains back. Gene remembers the day the Western Union man came to his family's house.. His brother was missing in action at 18 years old, just a few months after he joined the service. He has been listed as missing ever since.

Im not sure why he would want to take his brother away from his fellow shipmates that died that day. I understand wanting him changed from MIA to KIA, but after that I would leave him with his shipmates.
