There may be some issues arise if the contract is awarded to Textron, on who's board the immediate past SecAF sits. But, I think it would be neat to see a CAS "wing" formed, with Light Attack aircraft as support, and the A-10 as the centerpiece.
Obviously, these are not meant to be air superiority frames, so lets not bring that up. I think we all understand that these are meant for CAS. (Couldn't tag Air Tractor Inc since there isn't a tag for them).

I agree with you SSgt (Join to see) , so long as Big AF doesn't use a successful procurement and use in permissive environments to argue against the A-10. In a world where we find ourselves committed to long term, low intensity conflicts light attack makes sense. It also allows for recaptalization and life-extension of the A-10 fleet, which is undoubtedly a national asset of the highest priority. In such an implementation, my only lament is that no one entered an updated OV-10 Bronco to compete. Such a craft would win, hands down.
