Air Force promotes nearly 400 officers

This board was held 13-16 January 2020, before the pandemic. It usually takes a couple of months for board results to be released, as they have to be staffed through the Secretary of the Air Force and OSD. That said - Air Force Personnel Center (AFPC) is experimenting with "virtual" boards - where board members do not have to be physically present at AFPC for the board to occur. My own function - Chaplain Corps - held its recent Developmental Team Board (for PME selections - run just like a promotion board) virtually. The board members electronically scored records for 106 personnel, and held two teleconferences to resolve scoring splits and to discuss career field health and trends. I would not be surprised if the virtual board becomes the "new normal."
