TSgt Joe C. - one question, do some of those that get promoted truly deserve it? Just saying.

Honest answer...no..my own personal opinion though. Lots of people are great at their job; others not so much. On the same token, some a great at testing for rank, others, not so much. Kind of mix and match with all that and you get what you get. I'm great at my job but terrible at testing. Took me 3 tries to get to E-5 (SSgt) and I doubled that amount of tries getting promoted to E-6 (TSgt). There are those who have been in less than me that hold a higher rank than me; transversely, there are those who have been in ,longer than me that hold a lesser rank than me. Long answer, I know, but there is my take SGT David A. 'Cowboy' Groth

used to In the Army for Grades less then E-6... the Points applied for Qualifications and Schools and other requirements...
they had to Make Tim in service or Tome In grade with a Waver on One or Both and then E-7 and Up had to Make all Qualifications and there had to be openings in the MOS...

That is interesting news TSgt Joe C. that time-in-grade and time-in-service points in active duty enlisted promotion consideration will be eliminated beginning with the 17E7 master sergeant promotion cycle. Thanks for letting us know.
