Isn't it customary to try and respect what the retiree wishes for their retirement ceremony?

Even if the commander had banned him, heshould have been dealt with before the ceremony started. But once it's going then respect for the retiree and his family would dictate that they wait until it is over to do anything. But that just looks so unprofessional and any unit should be embarrassed to see that occur.

It also appears that individuals actually participating in the ceremony were aware of the reading "Stephan Sila, who identified himself as the officiating officer at the ceremony and a 28-year Air Force veteran, wrote in a Facebook post published on the military blog that Rodriguez simply planned to read a statement honoring the flag and that his appearance had been cleared through the proper chain of command."
