This article is full of double-speak. First they say this effort is to "mirror the demographics of the United States". Why? High-performing organizations like the NFL, NBA, Google and Facebook do not mirror demographics over performance. They pick the best. Then, the article claims certain skills and benchmarks are outdated and must be changed, and then in the next sentence, it claims it will do so "without changing the standards needed to become an officer and an aviator." Are they changing the standards or not? Do we want to win the next war, or not? Because if we do, we want only the best pilots to become USAF, USN, and USMC pilots REGARDLESS of skin color. As CSAF Gen Brown stated in this recruiting ad:
