not a leg as in a body part, a leg is a non-airborne qualified person.

Sounds pretty stupid if you ask me. In and out of consciousness, bleeding out, and refusing to take a blood transfusion from anyone.

3rd stanza "N" - "Never shall I fail my comrades. I will always keep myself mentally alert, physically strong and morally straight and I will shoulder more than my share of the task whatever it may be, one-hundred-percent and then some."

5th stanza "E" - "and under no circumstances will I ever embarrass my country."

pretty sure he's not upholding the Ranger creed.

Apparently, it was a "tongue in cheek" no blood from an infantryman to an airborne guy thing...

Oh I get it, but until he passes Airborne School he's technically still a leg. By the sound of the extent of his injuries he's going to remain a GULF!
