Pros: It withstands rain and snow unlike the hard paper (cardboard) ones. It is environmentally friendly and reusable. Also it can be transferred between 8-points with out getting worn out, comparatively, and it's cost effective.

Cons: It only seems ideal when compared to the cardboard ones. I personally don't maintain the cardboard ones and don't often use my 8-point unless inspections are upon me or it's more warranted. Would be a bonus for those who favor the 8-points over ball caps.
