The train was going 2 mph over the speed limit, seems to me there is something more going on here. Interesting that the Mayor in the area did not want the high speed train in his city.

NEAR SEATTLE, WASHINGTON, USA - An Amtrak passenger train derailed this morning during its inaugural run along a faster route through Washington state, sending part of the train crashing down onto a major highway and killing an unknown number of passengers, authorities said.
