This is great news! I'm proud to have been there for the graduation of the first female pilot Capt Rahmani (also mentioned in the article). She was a very focused and competent officer and pilot.

Awesome Maj Kevin "Mac" McLaughlin thanks for some ground level insight. Agree with PVT James Strait seen many- and all good. Focused and dedicated.

SPC Sheila Lewis Going to hope so- she had to overcome a lot to get where she is. The plight of women in the region up until 2005 (which is from my readings) not more than staying at home and cooking and cleaning. Not even going outside very much. Can only go up from there.

She and the other female pilots have been making a great positive influence on he AAF. I had the pleasure of meeting Capt Rahmani (1st AAF female pilot mentioned in the article)as an Air Advisor to the AAF in 2013-14. The general sense we observed from the other male pilots was that the women were holding their own and doing very well. The pilot world in the AAF is a younger force with officers who are much more willing and able to accept the changes we promoted to them.
