This is one of those books that we seemed to study endlessly in high school English. Think we spent an entire grading period on just this book, at least it seemed that way.

Unfortunately, when I taught it in high school, many students did not have the background knowledge to understand the comparisons to Stalinism. I had to build that up. Most students liked it, especially after we saw two movies of the book. Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen

Oh i liked it, don't get me wrong. Just spent way too much time on it from my teen point of view..
