Nobody should have been surprised. They should have known that they would have to work with some people that they did not care for.

Most conservatives opposed Hillary and hoped for the best with Donald. Sadly, he is beginning to perform as expected. However, there are two points I'd like to make. I'm proud of conservatives acting and speaking on principle. Would those who support Hillary be criticizing her for missteps? I'm sure you'll say that you are just a principled as any conservative, so my question is rhetorical...

You will never know since we are constantly reminded she lost!!
But as for Donald it was predicted and is coming true hopefully someone will get to him and get to change course and drain what he promised. I have little confidence it will happen.
One could hope!

As per usual Ying, I knew you couldn't quit me.
First, I knew what I was getting with Hillary but chose to vote for her anyway because (if I said this once, I've said it a thousand times) she was far more familiar with the workings of DC and could navigate those shark-infested waters more effectively. Second, far too many people, yourself included, saw Trump as a Second Coming and the answer to the unheard prayers of joblessness, the insidious infiltration of radical Islamists, the waves of immigrants "stealing our jobs", and to restore America's image as "the toughest kid on the block." Now as you stated, he's beginning to perform as expected and worse in many instances, as he has walked back many of the promises he said he'd do upon being elected.
But you are right about one thing. I'm not as principled as any conservative. I don't call Liberals that don't agree with me "DINOS" (and I'm trademarking that term). I don't believe in assassinating a person's character, belief, orientation, or gender because it's something I don't believe or to win an argument. I believe that respect goes up and comes down, not that one should be respected or disrespected nor accepted or condemned based on their opinion or stance. I believe in questioning the knowledge and going to a variety of sources to get my information, not ones that speak solely to my fears or those that quantify my biases and I don't vote emotionally because a candidate choses to stoke fear and resentment of another group to get my support

I am absolutely shocked. I didn't expect these two to stand by their principles. There may be hope after all.
