Fort Hood soldier: Inmates live better than we do
<p>Did this anonymous Soldier step over the line, or was this interview acceptable? I know the media likes to get candid reactions in the wake of significant events, but I found these opinions just a little rediculous and not exactly painting the Army in the best light. How can Fort Hood be worse than jail? If that is the case, deployment must be an absolute living hell! </p>

With that said I may be an exception but I'm sure what you just described is not the rule. I lived and survived just fine once I exited service. I currently have a job that is very competitive and has many fringe benefits including many things I didn't get in the Marines.
Again I agree that we are in the military and it is a lifestyle. But as a tax payer I think we can do better for the active duty members. Seems the Air Force has figured it out I hope the other services follows.
