OK, I obv admit I hadn't heard any of that...I've gotta think about it awhile, some of it gets rather subtle with the arcania of terminology, certainly. I haven't delved into Linux or variants thereof as much as I'd have wanted, I tend to get more heavily involved in specialized scientific languages or environments like R, or Scilab, and, when possible, those packages I'd sent in here like DATSPLOT or ImageJ. Not that I don't understand the significance of the debate, I realize there's a lot in the piece here, I can perceive that, I've just never gotten engrossed in it. I've tried to get familiar with automated programming methods, and have serious interests in high professional efforts at decompilers and/or disassemblers, as I think you might've seen me send in about before, that whole software reuse group think, like IEEE Working Inferences on Reverse Engineering (WCREl in the US, or SANER in Europe. I tend to get engrossed in open source scientific stuff on Source forge, and have tried to look at Python somewhat, when I can. I'm esp. Fascinated with trying to adapt genomics to biocomouting, as well, not that any of that is stuff you might deal with, merely illustrating a point as to interests, however, I did find the debate here of interest, certainly, by all means.
