This article appears to be primarily addressing taxes paid by US companies in EU countries. As far as I can tell there are disputes about some of the practices but no hard results in on the cases. All counties try to draw in business by offering tax breaks. We do it here at the state level all of the time. I don't think the article addresses corporate inversion which appears to be your interpretation of what is occurring when they avoid paying taxes in a given country. Those two things are not the same.

Corporate inversion is occurring because US companies want to avoid paying higher US tax rates on business and invert their structure to a more favorable country related to taxes and policy. Not illegal by any stretch. It should be a topic of conversation especially when you look at who these companies donate to and support for political office.

What we should be doing is looking at our tax rates on business earnings and looking for ways to help companies want to stay here and not invert. Our tax policies are driving the behavior.

Thank you for the response and Yes I used the article to bring up the subject knowing there is no direct relation between the two. It was more of a highlight to my question.

The big question is not the focus on the words fair share... lol.... but how do we get our corporations to bring back thier business to our soil and why are neither candidate talking about a possible plan to make that happen?
