During the Cold War, environmentalists subjected Americans to a constant barrage of hate for our evil ways. Frequently, they pointed to the Soviets as paragons of responsible stewardship of the environment. However, once the Iron Curtain was pulled aside, we discovered that the Soviets had been raping the environment with all the restraint of a rabid pedophile. Not only did the environmentalists get it wrong but the social engineers did as well. The ethnic groups in the Soviet Union were only held together by force not by rules of equality.......which the Russians never folllowed and still don't today. The entire reason why Russia will never forge a decent working relationship or alliance with China.......they are too bigoted. The Chinese already had the beans spilled in the early 1960's on that.

Actually, the Chinese are also bigoted. BUT, in CH society, that is not wrong, but normal to think they are superior. The CH Hans are a bit more superior among the CH.

The Cold War joke was that you could walk across the bottom of the ocean on the carcasses of sunken Russian subs. All giving off radiation. The Mike Class that sank in 1991/2 off of Norway is still giving off stuff.

Germany was against our NIKE deployment and against US Nukes. Germany used to have hundreds of nuke power plants. Then the Greens came in power. Now Germany is not self sufficient and now dependent on Russian oil. Wow. That seems smart. So, I would never think that Russia had anything to do with the Greens... FYI, I do believe in the Easter Bunny.

Backwards. Russia (and the EU) are dependent on the Germans. The Germans "pump" the Russian gas. The Germans are the salesman. The Germans put the meters in the houses, print out the bills, etc. All profits go to Russia. Huh? Think about it... Germany runs the "pumps"... Germany runs it for free but has the keys to shut it off as they see fit. This is why EU gas dependent Italy and Greece publicly said they weren't paying their EU loan payments, then secretly flew to Germany the next night...

I honestly feel that its 1939 all over again, but instead of Hitler and Stalin partitioning Poland, we have Merkel and Putin controlling all of the EU's nat gas. Also note that China is redoing/modernizing Russia's Eastern leg of her rail network "for free." I'm thinking its so that China can sell Russian gas to Asia with the same "set up" that Germany has.
