This crap happens a lot, unfortunately.
I had a Soldier who didn't disclose her fraudulent marriage for over a decade (not even to her fiancé), until her Secret clearance expired and she put on the form that she was married. This turned into questions, and next thing we know she tells us she's been trying to get divorced for years, but can't do it because "he had married someone else" and didn't tell his spouse about her.
She was mad at him for this!
Not missing the irony of the situation, I pointed out that this exact thing is something her fiancé Marcus might not find a compelling explanation, considering she hadn't told him about this dude either.
Security clearance not renewed, chapter out of the Army.
