My wife and I have been married for 44 years. One thing that has made it last (among many, of course) is that we do nice things for each other. She makes me sandwiches. She likes making me sandwiches. From time to time I vacuum. I hate vacuuming. Whatever. Do I think my wife is weak? Hardly. Good grief. What kind of relationship is it if you don't do nice things for each other.

(I should really sandwich in a joke here--help ham it up a bit. But, I might get in a jam with feminists. Which would just egg me on. Besides, what do I know. I'm accused of being part of 'white bread' America. So, I won't say anything cheesy)

My wife of 21 years is far from weak. She does make my sandwiches for lunch and yet managed to maintain the home, raise the kids, and participate in all the PTA functions while I was off in some foreign country sampling the beer. Weak, no! She is far stronger than most and even though I try to show my appreciation for all she does, I can never successfully fill her shoes.
