Hillsdale College’s new free online course, “Introduction to Aristotle’s Ethics: How to Lead a Good Life,” will be released four days from now.
Hillsdale freshmen are given copies of Aristotle’s Nicomachean Ethics to read prior to beginning coursework. It introduces them to the question of how best to live. Aristotle’s answers to this question remain among the most profound ever written.
This course will address obstacles to the good life and the virtues required to overcome them and achieve happiness. Its purpose is not only to learn what Aristotle says about the good life, but to put that knowledge to work.
