As a retired police officer I carry often. The biggest thing is that if I get stopped for anything, I keep my hands on the steering wheel and inform the officer (s) that I am carrying and what do they want me to do. I then do what I am told to do as well as tell the officer (s) where my DL is as well as the insurance and registration cards are. I listen to them and do what they tell me to do.

I have taken a version of the concealed handgun class in 4 States and in each class the instructor discussed this issue and how to act properly. You would think that it would be common sense to keep both hands in plain sight of the Police and not to move until instructed to do so.

Yep, you would certainly think so. Sadly some very obvious things are invisible to some people.

Even police officers are taught in the academy what to do when pulled over while off duty by other cops. For those who work in a plain clothes and/or undercover assignments, there is instruction on how to act when contacted by uniformed police.
I wish it was required training for anyone with a CCW in all states.

It's a great idea. While it should be common sense what to do, many folks seem to have lost common over the years.
