84 year old Vet shot by the police, .... Reading this I see both sides of the issue the man had a gun and was supposedly making threats. The cops felt they had no choice.

From the Vets point of view he is 84 has no place to live and the only thing he has left are his pets he is willing to fight for them. Its a shit show and the Property management didn't do anything to help the situation, then again the VA didn't help ether but that's par for the course with the VA.

As a "Pet" owner, my dog is a member of my pack, and I protect my pack. I would never live anywhere that wouldn't have him, I would never be around people that don't accept him, I Trust my dogs judgment of people, if he doesn't like you I wont like you. He protects my Family and home when I am gone (to the best of his ability) he is trained in commands in 4 different languages, and understands more than most of the O's I deal with lol. I get where this Vet was coming from with his Dogs.

Tragic story but not as cut and dry and the headline suggests.

Usually isn't as cut and dry as any headline we read. Same with e-mail subject matter these days. Tired of hit words to get you to open the damn email. After a while, I won't open any of them.

Honestly I lived in homestead not far from Hidden Gardens, and this doesn’t surprise me. The Miami,FL and for the most part all of Dade County do nothing to help Veterans. Not to mention for anyone who goes there on Active the COL is or was the 2nd highest in the US. When I would help a neighbor to the VA and eventually I ended up having to go there in Miami, seeing the tents with Veterans lining the streets leading up to the hospital is demoralizing. Then walking into the hospital that hasn’t been renovated in decades was a scented out of Jacobs Ladder.
All the attorney can say is, is what a pleasure he was to speak with? You left him to get thrown out onto the street and the great Miami sat by and did nothing.
This breaks my heart, Our Brother deserved better than that! There should be recourse against Dade County for letting a Disabled Veteran get thrown out onto the street. They obviously didn’t do enough.
