The Army in Europe has down sized, I think they left one brigade in place. I guess he would need more forces if the Russian hoard starts heading west.

I have a few thoughts on that:
First if you are going to add the requirement for a brigade (or whatever force lvl) then you need to add two or three to the troop end strength. Build more of the system we currently have tank, trucks, etc… We are already the best force with the battle tested systems we have fielded today.
There are 28 NATO members. For every three to four units the US deploys there should be one from the “big eight” France, UK, Spain, Germany, etc…. and then another from one of the remaining 19. The rest of NATO has to get into the game and start spending the agreed to 2% of GNP on the defense of Europe. I don’t mind us leading from the front but we have to require the support of those who have the most to lose.

Gen Shinseki was crucified when expressing that without more troops and resources in Iraq

Wishful thinking, Trump supports Putin. Should have asked for help when Obama was in office.

That is not a true statement. Trump supports NATO just wants them to pay their share. He support the European Reassurance Initiative and more importantly SecDef gets the importance of Eastern Europe to our strategic mission to deter aggression. Remember Obama sat by while Russia invaded Eastern Europe.

SSG Robert Webster
SSgt Ray Stone An interesting statement to make since the latest major round of drawdown in Europe was under President Obama's watch between 2012 and 2013. There was a considerable amount of warnings about this then. AND do not lay this at the feet of GEN Scaparrotti either, since he took command in late spring 2016. Maybe you should lay this at the feet of his predecessor, GEN Breedlove, who also happened to be the USAF Europe commander during the period in question.
