It requires a bit a training; transitions and such, but well worth it.
I think if you are in a combat, or combat support role, dual arming should be the standard.

Coming from a Special Operations background, we have long wondered why this wasn’t being done years ago. Every NCO should be armed with both a primary and secondary weapon. Remember, the MHS is not going to be their primary assault weapon. It is used to give one the ability to continue the fight should something happen to that primary weapon.

CW5 Jack Cardwell Was always dual armed as 95B and 3P. One branch it was primary, other it was secondary weapon. If available, why not. Squad leaders and team leaders why not. Makes sense to me.

If squad leaders and team leaders need two weapons shouldn't the team members have them as well?

Seems like more of availability problem, if none or some then I’ll take some. If it comes to necessity, you might talk big machine into none.
