I had someone show up in PT shoes stating they had pins and metal in his feet. For years. But at that point he JUST got home from BCT and AIT...so how'd he get in and why was he let through? He was nice and all but not sure what anyone was thinking beside "ugh this is a lot of paperwork.....[grabs stamp that says PASS and hits all documents]"

Not gonna be good for those involved. I think I had on investigation in six years of recruiting.

I know in my OSTU platoon we had 3 from day one. One guy was in the Spectrum and you could clearly see this. Even the Drill’s noticed, had psych eval‘s and test done. The guy graduated with us and went to his line unit. One guy had one leg longer than the other and had inserts in his boots and pt shoes to level him out. He graduated with us too and is still in. The 3rd guy, well he only lasted 3 weeks. He was a BCT restart that had shoulder surgery. I get that recruiting command is all a numbers game. But come on. I also understand that Special Needs people have that desire to serve and that they look up to Us Military professionals as walking superhero’s. Don’t ask Don’t tell has a grip in the Recruiting world still I guess.?
