Thanks for this great question. I've always read TM's, FM's, books from the professional reading list (is that still around?) but the two that stand out are The Three Meter Zone and The Last Hundred Yards. Both deal with the role of the NCO both in Garrison as well as deployment. I highly recommend both.

"Until Tuesday: A Wounded Warrior and the Golden Retriever Who Saved Him" I was blessed with hearing fmr Capt. Luis Carlos Montalvan with his service dog Tuesday in person this last February. He and Tuesday signed my copy of his book. He was in Iraq the same time I was. What I like about his book is he shares how Tuesday brought him back and saved his life. Dogs are amazing. really love his children's book "Tuesday Tucks Me In." My six year old son loves it and already did a book report on it for school. It teaches children about service dogs and what they do to help Veterans.
