Army Mulls Creating New Pay Grades for Senior NCOs

Well the Army created the CW5 in the warrant ranks. So why no in the NCO ranks.

Interesting. And, I feel appropriate. There is a definite difference in the responsibility levels of Battalion, Brigade, Corps, and Army CSMs. The current 'super' grades (E-8 and E-9, created in the late 50's/early 60's) were made for exactly the same reasons: in order to recognize and reward 1SGs and CSMs. I say, "Go for it!"

Do they have a retention problem now? They used to have to pry these guys out of the uniform. we already have more pay grades than most other militaries
