This whole medical is priority is too much for me. I hear it everyday in my command. They threaten to take away your training holiday if you are red and now they are flagging you. I know someone who was flagged only to complete their appointment a week later to be back in the green so they unit had to do another flag to remove it. I get the point of being deployable but units have a cycle. I am not going to get called tomorrow to deploy with someone else because my unit in not in their deployment year. We do the PHA (Physical Health Assessment) every year and for what? I fill out the forms, schedule my appointment, sit down with the clerk to go over my issues and them I'm asked if I want to see the doctor. I say yes and them am told I have to make a separate appointment for each issue. What's the point of the PHA then? We are so focused on being green in medical that we are failing to deal with other issues such as unsatisfactory participates and weight control. We do this mass push to get rid of our UNSATS only for the problem to cycle around. We are failing to address what the real problem is and that is a failure of leadership. We don't engage our Soldiers or give them meaningful tasks. They stop showing up because they are not doing the job they signed up to do and all we say is, "They signed a contact, they have to show up". But we are not honoring that contract when we don't allow them to do their job. How can you be a truck driver and haven't driven in the past three years? How do we not have a weight control program in place to separate those who can't or won't make weight and are unable to attend professional development courses? We don't care about that. We just want you green across the board. I like to joke and say, "This is why I am retiring". I say that to most things I disagree with but that is how I feel. I understand the importance of being deployable through readiness but I my frustration is that we are failing to take care of other areas. This is my personal opinion and only reflects my views and is not intended to bash any unit or leadership.

I'll give my thoughts, the Army breaks you, but doesn't allow you the positions required for promotion, total B.S. it takes no fitness ability to run a personnel section, it does for an infantry platoon, oh wait you can't be in infantry with a profile so there is not really any point to this incredibly stupid debate. If the Army breaks you that should not hamper your career or end your career especially without a medical retirement. This is what you get when you have combat only NCO making decisions for the big army with no experience outside their lanes.

Can you comment on my thoughts? -
It doesn't feel genuine to me. Something isn't being said. Is it his initiative or his Commander's ? Is the goal to push people out of the Army? Maybe into ARNG?

I will certainly agree that something isn't being said. You could tell the CSM was doing some tap-dancing in his answers.

MSG (Join to see) - True. I didn't see that spark or fire in his eyes and voice. And the MSG was direct and tactful - no wiggle room in his question. I liked it. I liked it a lot. Those new uniforms still look weird.
Random question - are Soldiers still wearing multicam/OCP's or are they given that side eye discouragement to only wear new stuff? I'm not sure if I can legally wear pants from a currently authorized uniform.

SGT (Join to see) - Yes. I have seen many Soldiers wearing all three uniforms. All are still authorized. I believe the official wear out date for the ACU's is 2019
