Actually - it should read 2LT. My first Brigade CSM said that 2LT did not really join the Army until they become 1LT and could actually use a Map and a Compass (at least in the cav)

LTC Orlando Illi Hey this is supposed to be in good fun. There is no need to threaten a person with 2lt and a compass! It was a joke.

But you can't beat up on all II of tenants who took the gentlemen's course, what about those that went into basic training like me back before they had pluggers issued to the recruits LOL
