There are much easier ways to do it then committing felonies. Also - imagine if he had gotten further in and gotten ammo though.

Also the CG there said there's been several recruits try to jump the fence in the last 3 years? I mean not surprised as I've heard about people running before but still. And it took 30 minutes to notice he was gone? How? I was always around the other recruits in basic.

I get anxiety and separation but c'mon. Also now that recruit could have caused psychological trauma to those kids on that bus. Or the bus driver.

there is hopping the fence, and then armed kidnapping, felony aggravated assault with a weapon, possesion of a stolen weapon, theft of government property, just to name the felony charges.

As for the Drills and the Company - they are just as fucked, and rightly so. Hats removed, relief for cause, demotions, and forced retirements are in order.

This would have been a much better story if the bus driver would have known the rifle wasn't loaded and pushed him off the bus.
