I think it's a great idea. One of the main reason's I don't wear my uniform to the gym, is because I can't wear my headphones or my training mask. This is why I always PT in my civvies.

I see it this way; if I want Soldiers in my unit to be fit (I do), I want to incentivize PT as much as possible.

I love the Army, and our standards, but I think we sometimes make it harder for people trying to do the "right thing".

I'm really impressed with SMA Dayley thus far!

Chief; I speak from experience as well. I commanded in combat, prior to that I was an infantry squad leader. We can disagree, but "experience" won't win the argument.

Wow, sweat and earbuds SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL. It won't be long before a multi-million federal study will be initiated to determine the impact of sweat of earbuds - how the performance of earbuds is affected, the rate of transmission of various and sundry infections associated with wearing and in some cases sharing sweaty earbuds. I expect there will be increased demand for earbud cleaners and perhaps an obnoxious gecko will tell us about earbud insurance and some unfortunate souls with the Statue of Liberty in background will cast disparaging comments about your insurance company which would fully reimburse you for your earbuds even through you shared them with everybody in the locker room to hear your playlist.
Yer another instance where Hunter S. Thomson's astute observation "When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro." Many of the leaders of our nation are children of flower children and other variants of the fee love generation. The fruit does not fall far from the tree.
