Come to think of it, whatever happened to the temperate and arid variants of the new ACU that we were promised? That seems to have gone away. Seems to me that if you are going to spend $1k per Soldier to outfit a couple of brigades, that this is a perfect opportunity to issue and test one of the variant color schemes as well.

Give them to the new recruits to wear, be a real good test.
