Why not use the old combat boot and field it quicker. I wonder if we will have to get it made in China..... (That is a joke, I believe these contracts require US production.)

Thanks for sharing SSgt GG-15 RET Jim Lint. As somebody who previous worked with PEO Soldier when I as assigned to/supported the Pentagon, I think it might make sense to use the jungle boot design with steel inserted against punji stakes as a basic design instead of starting from scratch.
Certainly it make sense to have Natick Labs contract with US boot makers instead of outsourcing overseas.
