One reason the Army retired the pinks & greens when they went to the all ranks greens (that they just phased out!) was to NOT have an elitist, class divisive separate uniform for officers in the more egalitarian years after WW2/Korea. Pinks and greens now would have to be for all ranks. And regardless of of the details, it's reintroduction would be a clear rejection of the new Army blue uniform.
Don't misunderstand me. I personally love the pinks and greens. But I think the Army seems to have some type of mental illness on uniforms. The debacle with that gray cammie uniform that they just fixed and now adopting the blue dress uniform for full time wear. Silliness. The dress uniform is meant to be special, not for every day. Anyway, they'll do what DA wants and whatever will cement the legacy of the current SMA & CofS. Shinseki redux.
Really glad the Corps doesn't have that problem.

I think all the branch have a mental issue on uniforms. I work for the Navy now and the dress whites for enlisted E1 to E6 went back to the blue piping on the sleeves and flap. Now I do rememeber my day ahd that back in WWII, and the marines are looking at changing there cammies again the only uniform that has not changed much is the Marine blues and dress unitform other then I here a lot of Marine complaining about how females can were the new famel blues that look like the males but hell I don't care lol. Now I would like the Army khakies to come back they were a nice summer uniform.

Agreed. Somehow the dress blues as service uniform deminishes its origional purpose of being for special occasions.

Now on the new uniform I like it but let the AIRBORNE wear the brown boots with then. Also bring back the khakies that was a nice summer uniform.
