Sounds like an ammo issue with the new XM1152 BALL ammo. I wonder if any M882 124gr ammo has been tested by the troops. I bet the pistol was developed around and tested around the M882. I have a SIG 229 that stove pipes on occasion with 115gr bullets but digests 124 gr ( M882 specs) with no issues.

The M9A3 works with whatever ammo you put in it, and it will not fire if it falls out of your holster or gets dropped. M9A3 all the things.
