I would hope that those new Civil Engineers are competent to specify sea water resistant concrete for their vessel. Unless it is built like the Queen Mary at Long Beach, CA, I do not believe it will survive 25 years of constant exposure to real Sea Water!

Even Superman has kryptonite!!! In reality there are many more additives to concrete now than when I started in industry circa 1981. I’m only retired a year and I feel obsolete. :)

“We thought it was really fitting for this year, because there were many rough waters through the pandemic. But what’s important is keeping the integrity of the project and the momentum for future years. So we were always looking for that North Star to keep us grounded and keep ourselves on track despite everything that happened around us.”
