leaders need more training in this. I went from a Rapid deployment front line unit to a COSCOM support unit and had many females as a 1SG. No experience dealing with women in uniform. The worst thing about pregnant soldiers is the soldier may be on profile for a long time, and if you have a number of women pregnant, your combat readiness is affected. I sent a suggestion that if a soldier cannot do their job for a period longer than 90 days that they should be reassigned to a garrison unit and replaced with a combat soldier. I was criticized for my thinking. But in my opinion, this allows the soldier time and place to heal and keeps the unit battle ready.
