Looking at the increasing number of colleges and universities that are encouraging the use of safe spaces and trigger warnings etc I cannot help but wonder where these students will go in the real workspace. Given that yes, we do need someone to do the work and the need for technical skills is important. I do see the aforementioned approach to education (sfe spaces etc) now trickling down to the high school and below. In fact I remember in the 80's or so people were saying that you had to go to college in order to get a good highschool education. In short yes, bring back trade schools. We need them and not everyone has the ability, interest or wherewithal to attend college and based upon the increasing safety zones etc, there is not a growing need for degrees in women's studies, or or cultural awareness .

We sure could use a more robust trade school program. I own a construction company and it is hard to find qualified tradesmen. A good electrician, plumber, or carpenter can earn a 100k plus and choose where and when he wants to work. We need a lot more people in the trades At the very least they are far more useful than people with a sociology degree.
