When I purchased my first Army license plate, someone found the remains of 15 Vets in a government storage facility. Thanks to the "vanity" plates fee all 15 were laid to rest with honor at the memorial cemetery in Airway Heights, Washington. Ever since, when I acquire new cars, I insist they have the plates installed.
