I wonder what he actually did. The article only give the typical platitudes:

I wonder how effective their bombing missions were? What were their aircraft readiness numbers? When was the last time they lost a airplane due to maintenance or enemy fire?

Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen
Know the unit set a maintenance record on their last deployment, that has nothing to do with a B-52 squadron though but does indicate good leadership above the squadron level.
