I only met and talked to LT Jonathan Brostrom for a few minutes when he graduated Ranger School with my son. My son told me this LT was the best damn officer he had ever served with. He said, "Dad, this LT is the real deal and I fully expect to turn around one day and see him wearing stars." He was really impressed with LT Brostrom, I had never seen my son, a SSG in Third SF Group express that kind of respect for any officer. And he was right, I could tell right off the bat that this LT had the "right stuff", that confidant leadership that makes you want to get up and follow him. And from reading the accounts, the LT was text book, getting to the point of decision and working to turn the battle. Takes more courage than many people realize.
