I've never seen this site or http://www.veteranslist.us/ before.

I always used Veteranownedbusiness.com. I'll be checking your site out more tomorrow. Thanks for sharing. Can you recommend any of your posts for an IT guy to read or a businesses that are hiring ?

I come across businesses that are hiring fairly often...just depends on what they are looking for and the skills of the individual. Veterans List focuses on VOBs but we try to help Veterans wherever we see and opportunity to help.

Recently completed the VOSB process. Would like thoughts on others who have also completed it, or are currently in the pipeline.

It has become a complex and un-needed process. Back in 2008, it was one form to get certified, today it is high overhead to get and maintain. DIRTY LITTLE SECRET: Last time I checked, the only Government agencies that required CVE certification for VOSB and SDVOSB is The VA and The FAA......ALL other Government agencies will accept self certification. Certainly there is some marketing goodness in getting the certification but it is not required. Of course you need to be able to prove it or face fraud charges but the bottomline is only do it if you can justify the time and expense.

I just watched the VA webinar on policy changes for Kingdomware. Based on some of their (well intentioned) changes and the likelihood of formal VOSB accreditation becoming the norm across all of FEDGOV contracting (link attached), I can see this process and the "rule of 2" becoming more hurdles that keeps many new veteran owned firms out of government bids.

I wonder how many established and larger firms will influence the process to become more cumbersome in order to minimize competition, basically beating the competition with their own shield?

Very glad to have finished the process, and hope it gets better for all. It will be interesting to watch, if nothing else.
