I guess the age old saying... "sticks and stones may break my bones but names will never hurt me has to be extended to include........ "sticks and stones may break my bones but names will never hurt me..unless I am a sensitive snowflake liberal afraid of the truth and common discourse".

Twitter is headed up and run by a bunch of "twits". These people have too much power and they know it. Who gives them that power.... we do, their users. I wonder what the break down of Twitter employees is... conservatives vs liberals, after all, as I understand it.... once an algorithm spits out a potential "rule violator" the final decision rests with a real live breathing person?

Nope, it does not. It also doesn't mention computers, airplanes, automatic weapons and a host of other things. Twitter is a speech tool. It is how pundits, writers, politicians, entertainers and everyday Americans speak to larger audiences, a bit like an electronic town square.

Those comfortable with speech being squelched today will have to face their comeuppance one day when hey find themselves on the wrong side of the thought police.

The fact that twitter, as large as they are, can force you to speak only in certain ways and they can force compliance or you face free speech being taken down ought to concern Americans.
