Lt Col Charlie Brown (since you blocked me because you apparently, like others, can't handle differing opinions and love to live in an echo chamber): "It is BS. And I for one, am done with this crap. We need to get this and CRT out of our schools." ---- Except it's not "BS" and it's not crap and what we need to do is stop white washing history and teach kids about what really happened in this country's history and the world. The only thing that's "BS" is this article and people who think like you.

LTC David Brown - "Is there any historical evidence America fought the Revolutionary war to preserve slavery?"
Yes. Preserving slavery was a primary requirement to unite the 13 colonies. The southern representatives were very blunt about it; No slavery, not unification and revolution.
For an in-depth review:
Jefferson: Architect of American Liberty, by John B. Boles
this gives a very clear picture of the dilemma men like Jefferson, himself a slave owner, had in attempting to resolve the issue of slavery all while promoting liberty and equality.

A1C Mike Allen - You are too stupid to argue with. Believe what you want. I have plenty of education in logic and debate in places where you would be laughed out of the room. You wouldn't know a debate if you saw one, much less understand how technical debate functions. As long as you can convince yourself that you are right, that is good enough for you. You are best to stick with that.

MSG Stan Hutchison - allowing slavery was required for America to become a nation, but it was far from universally accepted. It was necessary for America to become an ally with Stalin to win WWII, I doubt mst people wanted his barbarism imported into America. The same was true for slavery. Was slavery blocked in the Northwest Territories ? The expansion of slavery was continually oppose as was limiting the power of slave states. There is no evidence the Revolutionary was fought to preserve slavery, NONE, https://www.nydailynews.com/opinion/ny-oped-a-story-of-1619-1776-and-2 [login to see] 4-qxm5whiacvernnvjoc6wx5xlki-story.html
A story of 1619, 1776 and 2020: Telling the whole truth about America and slavery
Last week, the New York Times received a George Polk Award — one of the highest marks of recognition in American journalism — for its 1619 Project, a special package published last August exploring slavery’s legacy in the United States. Yet the Times’ own report on the award acknowledged that the project has drawn sharp criticism from historians. And a few days earlier, a group of African-American public figures launched a rival 1776 Project...

LTC David Brown - The War would not have been won without the South. The south would not have fought with acceptance of slavery.
That is all I am saying.
Acceptance of our history regarding slavery is necessary to fully understand our national history.

You can't remake America without first destroying it (and its history is what defines America)
