So the Marines strive to become more flexible, efficient and lethal. The Army moves to lower standards and eliminate core efficiencies like throwing a grenade

Interesting to place a drone operator at the platoon level. That should work out really well!

SOF was doing that in Iraq, I was a Navy IA and worked around SOF units all the time. I ran into two Navy IA pilots that would go out on Patrol with SOF units and used drones. They worked out well what is the problem, and these were trained Navy Pilots, that supported the best of the best SOF units on ground. They just need same training, I don't understand why people seem that an MOS is just that, in todays Battlefield things change and MOS will and have changed to adapt to situations saw it all over Iraq. We attached with Marine and Army CA units for our Engineering and construction skills, yes going out on foot patrols what is wrong with that, as long as your trained and can keep up.
