This should be interesting. If one only looked at political maps you could hardly figure out what city or county you live in. IMHO voting districts should be by city/town or county period not the hodgepodge system we currently have (at least in Florida).

States need to transition to the electoral college type system. The current State system can be and is easily manipulated to serve only the highest population centers of a State. A more representative form would be a system where a candidate must win every county in the State rather then the popular vote.

I'd like to see the states go to a Ranked-Choice voting system across the board. We can eliminate the political maneuverings that keep the power out of the hands of the people.

i thought the idea of getting rid of districts and voting by county with one elector per county was a good idea. that way LA/SF would no longer rule CA and Seattle would no longer rule WA.

Sgt Wayne Wood - In Washington State, it's really the entirety of the west side of the state that runs things - not just Seattle.

I guess the question is who we think should have the power? Individuals or regions?

yeah, King Snohomish and Thurston counties... i lived in two of them.. but the folks in Eastern King county don't even like the way Seattle votes, but Seattle carries. i think the County Elector system would be better.

Sgt Wayne Wood - Like I said, I think it all depends on where you think the power should reside - in regions or in people.
