As a former commander and first line supervisor I went out of my way to be fair to each soldier based on facts and not stereotypes and presumptions. But I've witnessed some bias in UCMJ within some units I served. Also some bias in treatment of officers by commanders that from perception was racial or sexist bias. It's a reality in our military that everyone deals with.

A good article and I appreciate you sharing it. Not talking about issues is just irresponsible and actually adds to it by trying to "wish" it away. What's right isn't always popular and what's popular isn't always right, and bad news doesn't get better with age, so thanks for sharing.
