So Saudi Arabia wants an international law making blasphemy punishable in an effort to keep people from speaking out about Islam.
Maybe the USA needs to rethink their position and relationship with Saudi Arabia.

Yes, we need to rethink our relationship with Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. Any country that discriminates heavily against segments of its population, is more deserving of sanctions that special treatment. Our problem is that Saudi money reaches into the highest levels of government and buys complicity.

SGM Charlie Fergurson - Radicals at one one college campus in California are intolerant of those who want to spread hate at their campus, and they are being blamed for the college and/or right wing speakers canceling appearances. Those radicals are themselves under attack from both the left (ACLU, Bill Maher, and others) as well as the right because their position is idiotic.
It is also not all of California, or even all public places in California, it's one college campus... on that campus it's not the college itself that wants to stifle free speech, but a bunch of radicals who thing hate speech shouldn't be allowed. The college doesn't have enough security to ensure the safety of everyone, which means for now at least those radicals are getting their way. It seems to me that Berkley has no choice but to beef up their security budget to handle these kinds of situations, however that isn't going to happen overnight.
