When I was young in the late 1950's the nuclear winter was a threat. Of course if there really is a nuclear war, the survivors will be in for a cold spell :-)
I had to chuckle at the bottom line in the article.

If the earth is warming that’s news to me. I am the same age as you are. On the average for quite awhile winters have been probably a little less severe and maybe a little warmer than I was used to..... although over the course of one lifetime my experiential data is limited. However, I can most definitely assert that summers have been cooler as a rule for a long time.

This was CFB Wainwright on 1 May. Weather can vary. Last year at this time it was 90F. Today is about 50 degrees F.
